How I lost weight

Welcome back. And all the best for your body shaping progress. I know you'll find what you need to help you here. Thanks for visiting!

Would you like to know how I did it?

If you want to know how and indeed whether I lost and kept off a lot of weight, the answer is yes, I was quite significantly overweight and I took that weight off several years ago simply by listening to my husband (for a change).

“And about time” he’d say. (Not that I lost weight, that I listened to him! Dieter could cope admirably with a chubby wife, but a chubby and cranky one was a bit much for any man).

My husband is a dreaded mesomorph, so that even when our diet consisted of large portions with creamy sauces and abundant lashings of alcohol, he never looked particularly overweight or unfit.

As an inferior pear shaped endomorph, I wore most of what I ate and drank on my long suffering hips and thighs and belly.

I blindly ignored the fact that Dieter had been an amateur bodybuilder and athlete in his youth and had been a partner in a gym in Europe.

I ignored the fact that he could indeed teach me how to safely lose weight and to keep it off permanently. I ignored my shrinking clothes till I was on the cusp of obesity.

So, how I did it? My personal “this is it” moment arrived and I sat and listened humbly to my very knowledgeable husband. I committed myself to his diet and exercise advice. I lost my excess fat and have kept it off for years.

What’s more, fitness and diet have become a fascinating hobby to me. I believe that is the true secret of permanent weight loss. You have to make your healthy lifestyle changes central to your life. Absolute top priority. Get fit, eat right and be as informed as you can get.

Keep learning about your #1 hobby and you will stay focused. Works for me. It will work for you too if you are prepared to make it happen.
