Dressing for your body type
Welcome back. And all the best for your body shaping progress. I know you'll find what you need to help you here. Thanks for visiting!
Do not ever dress in clothes that are the fashion of the day unless that fashion happens to coincide with bodyshapewear that suits you.
If you dress for fashion, not a style to suit your body type, you will lose out on several fronts.
• You will not look your best
• You will dress in colours and patterns that do not suit you
• Your mood will reflect the less than ideal image you see in your mirror
• You will spend, spend, spend on clothes every season time and again with no pleasure to show for your purchases
• You will be constantly chasing a dream through the department stores and boutiques of your land
You deserve better than this. You have to create a personal body image that works for you and helps you to look good.
What not to wear for your body type is actually very simple. You just have to do some experimentation and take a few long honest looks at yourself.
Only wear colours that look good on you – do not compromise even if an outfit is a good style, the colour will ruin it for you if it makes you washed out or clashes with your complexion.
If you are operating above your healthy weight range , you need to take note of the following
• Never ever wear clothes that terminate at your widest point
• Don’t wear items that belt or gather around your hips or waist if this draws attention to a problem area for you
• If you have big upper arms, keep them covered
• If you have chunky legs, keep them covered above the knee(Your swimsuits should be high cut to give the image of a longer leaner leg)
• Ban horizontal stripes from your wardrobe
• Make your neck longer and more slender with V necks. Round necks cut you off at the neck or even chin. Classic round neck T-shirts are out!
• Clingy stretch fabric does not make you look thinner, it emphasises every single ridge and bump. It may feel good cause it moves with you, but it looks utterly horrendous. Don’t do this to yourself. • Small fussy patterns make your whole body look bigger
• Charming and cute motifs on your tops make you look like the biggest toddler in the sandpit, they do not disguise the fact that you are overweight
The only way to be dressing for your body type is to dress yourself with your eyes wide open in a good light with a decent set of mirrors and an honest and fearless companion.
Whether you are an ectomorph, endomorph or mesomorph body type, be assured that you will find bodyshapewear to suit you.
It will take some time and concentration to start off with, but it does get easier over time and the effort is definitely worthwhile so that you can always be dressing for your body type now and in the future.
Of course it is much easier to be dressing for your body type if you are not overweight. There are more options open to you in terms of product availability when you fall within the healthy weight range.
